Scriptlogic File System Auditor

NEW! File System Auditor 2.5

File Share Auditing – Audit all file share events, including share creations, deletions, and security modifications.
Audit Workstation Name and IP Address – Collected audit events now include workstation name and IP address of the machine initiating the event.
Agent Deployment Wizard – Agents are now deployed to multiple servers simultaneously. There’s no need for individual deployment and configuration of auditing agents
Automatic Purging of Old Audit Data – New! Allows for automatic purging of age-specified audit records. Create an automated maintenance plan, including archiving old data and removal from the database.
New Platform Support – Auditing for Windows Server 2008 R2 systems and console support on Server 2008 R2 and Windows 7 OS. The auditing database is now supported on SQL Server 2008.

File System Auditor™ audits, reports and alerts on Windows file server activity, showing who touched which files and folders, when and on what server. Unlike event log consolidation solutions, which provide countless entries to represent a single event, File System Auditor uses intelligent auditing at the file system level to capture all activity and display each event as a single entry, which provides for better reporting, analysis and decision making.

Define – Simple GUI selections to select audited tasks

Collect – Event data is centrally stored on an SQL database

Report – Audit usage and generate reports based on detailed criteria

Notify – Configure reports to be generated and emailed in real-time

Features

Benefits

Real-Time Monitoring

Native file system auditing can yield hundreds of thousands of audit entries to sort through. File System Auditor intelligently monitors file system activity and returns a single entry. Even something as complex as a move (which is comprised of a copy and a delete) shows as a single entry.

Centralized Storage

All events are centrally stored in an SQL database. This allows organizations to not only maintain a secure audit trail, but answers to questions like “what files has Bob touched today” can be answered with enterprise coverage.

Simplified Reporting

Auditing reports are quickly and easily built using 6 criteria:

  • Date/Time Range

  • User(s)

  • Event Type(s)

  • Path(s)

  • Process(es)

  • Server(s)

Real-Time and Scheduled Notification

Report definitions can be saved and configured to be emailed when events occur, providing security staff with up-to-date information on file system activity.

Detailed Reporting

Reports contain all information pertinent to the event including: event type, username, date/time, process, and file path involved.

Exportable Report Data

Reports can be exported to the following formats: RTF, PDF, HTML, XLS, TIF, TXT and RDF.
